The Boathouse at the Anchorage is a re-envisioned boathouse replacing its former traditional boathouse lost in the hurricane of 1979.It was rebuilt in the 1980’s. This 35 ft by 15 foot structure sits on pilings 150 feet from shore on the scenic Miles River. This Timberpeg structure is post and beam construction with integral mortise-and-tenon joinery secured with wooden pegs.
There are no metal fasteners to take away from the natural beauty of timbers. The boathouse boasts a custom shuffleboard table, heat, AC, Cable TV and comfy coastal furnishings.
